The Scouts and Guides team of Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Lohegaon, were excited to experience the thrill and fun-filled experience of hill climbing. The guidelines and core points of safety were explained to the students by the Principal, Ms. Vinutha Ronurkar. 43 students from the primary section after breakfast started for a climb to the hillock adjacent to the school. The students were accompanied by the teachers: Miss. Priyanka Auti, Mr. Deepak Poria and Mr. Sagar Navale, and a bhaiyya.
The students were well supervised by the teachers. The students carefully followed the rules and procedures for safe climbing. The aim was to provide a safe and fun-filled climbing experience that would engage them to focus on agility, balance and coordination. The students enjoyed the slipping and the balancing acts while climbing up and during the descent. The climb was tough but the view from top was worth the efforts! Few games were organized for the students to be played on the table-top of the hillock, which was exciting too. The team learnt the values of respect, cooperation, care, togetherness and safety.
