TERI Awards Vikhe Patil Memorial School

TERI   in  association  with  Tetra  Pak  India  initiated  Project  SEARCH (Sensitisation, Education and Awareness on Recycling for a Cleaner Habitat), of which Vikhe Patil Memorial school is an important part since its inception in Pune in 2009. Vikhe Patil Memorial School has been an important part since the very beginning and initiated campaign “TRASH AVENGERS” under Project SEARCH with TERI &TETRA PAK in the year 2015-16.

Vikhe Patil Memorial School has been adjudged as the First Best Performing School 2015-2016 in Pune and has been bestowed with SEARCH Impact award 2015-16.  Mrs Nandini Charles  Director – Schools’ Programme & Joint Secretary – Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation as erstwhile Principal of Vikhe Patil Memorial School supported Project SEARCH and TERI activities since its inception. She was presented with this award during the ceremony on 7th December 2016 at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Center, Lodhi road, New Delhi.

Also Ms Nidhi Jain’s campaign has been awarded the Most Innovative Campaign- Runner award and was felicitated during award ceremony.

Ms Nidhi Jain, science teacher at VPMS was selected as Tetra Pak Teacher Ambassador 2015-16 from VPMS by Project SEARCH under ‘The Tetra Pak Teacher Ambassador Program’. She conceptualized, designed and implemented an innovative campaign “TRASH AVENGERS” focusing on waste management and recycling of Tetra Pak cartons in school and community.

The activities initiated have been well received by the students, parents and community at large.
