Community helpers are people who live and work in our communities. They do many different things to help us every day. They provide us with goods (products we use) and services (things they do for us). Some examples of community helpers are: doctors, nurses, chefs, teachers, bus drivers, fishermen, plumbers, sweeper, farmers, etc.

We at Vikhe Patil Memorial School believe in creating an awareness among students from a very young age. So we conducted Visits of Community Helpers to the Pre-Primary Section from 7th Feb to 9th Feb.

On 7th Dr. (Mrs.) and Dr. (Mr.) Maindarkar, who work with Sahyadri Hospital located at Shastri nagar, visited the school to interact with our children and shared lot of relevant information with them.

They showed a Stethoscope, BP Meter, Thermometer, Syringe etc. and explained the function of each.

Raju and Aadesh, the cooks from our school kitchen came with some vegetables and utensils to show our pre-primary students, which made them understand the value of a cook in our lives. They asked them the name of the vegetables and also explained to them the function of a frying pan, spatula, cutting board, etc.

Mr. Kumar a banker, working with Citi Bank visited the school on 8th Feb. He showed different documents like Application Form, Cheque Book, Draft Form, etc. He showed the pics of ATM card, ATM Machine and different counters in a bank on the projector.

Our own School Gardner came with his tools like spade, trowel, watering can, sand pan, etc.  He showed them and explained their usage to our students.

On 9th Feb we had Bus Driver, Bus Attendant, Nurse, Watchman, Teacher and Sweeper.

Everyone explained their duties and responsibilities. Children were given instructions on “Dos and Don’ts”. All were felicitated by the Principal Mrs. V. Ronurkar on 9th Feb after the session.

These sessions were interactive and interesting on all three days.
