COLLAGE MAKING COMPETITION
To develop fine motor skills in students, Pre-primary section conducted “Collage making competition “on Thursday, 31st January 2019 as a month end activity. Class teachers provided outlines of different picture and students cut and pasted different color paper pieces on given outline. The activity helped the students to develop their Fine motor skills, eye and hand co-ordination, to strengthen the thinking skill and creativity, to build self-confidence etc. All the students actively participated in this competition and enjoyed a lot.
KITE MAKING ACTIVITY
Std: I to III
The main objective of the acivity was to develop creative & innovative capabilities within the students. Kite making activity was conducted on 31st Jan 2019 for the students of classes I to III .Using their innovative ideas and the required material like colour paper, gum ,sticks, thread cello tape etc. The students prepared beautiful kites under the guidance of the respective in charge teacher . It was a fun learning session where students unleashed their creativity and created fascinating art work.
Std: IV – V
“Every child is an artist”, keeping this in mind and to explore the creative potential in the young minds of students a unique individual Pot Decoration Activity. The children showcased their creative skills in decorating the pot and came up with amazing art work. Students used beautiful patterns, ribbons, flowers, strips of different colours, and threads to decorate the pot. Each of the segment of pot was decorated so beautifully and diligently by the children. It was a treat to the eyes. The final judgement was made by the drawing teacher along class teacher. We chose the best performers with help of following criteria such as creativity, use of material, appearance and quality of work.
MAKING GREETING CARD FROM WASTE MATERIAL Std: VI – VIII
“When learning is purposeful, creativity blossoms: when creativity blossoms, thinking emanates: when thinking emanates, knowledge is fully lit: when thinking is fully lit , life flourishes”. Keeping the above point in mind “Making Greeting card Activity” was planned for the students of Classes VI to VIII. This activity aimed at i) Exploring and encouraging creativity in children and giving them platform to show their skill. ii)To find appealing to recognize different style of writing. iii)To adjust their spoken language to deliver a message.
Students were asked to design and decorate the given greeting card using any waste material brought by them and finished their work in their stipulated time and frame. The cards were decorated with various material such as stickers, kundan work, shells, glitters ,beads, lace, bindis etc . Beautiful messages were written on card. The response for the event was overwhelming and each card was unique and beautiful showing the interest and creativity of each students. It was wonderful to watch Zealous students giving expression of their thought. The card were judged based on design, material used, skill, presentation and message. The three best cards from each classes were selected . All the cards made by 7th classes were given to10th class students for their farewell.
PREPARATION OF MILK PRODUCT
To understand the nutritional values of milkproducts and their importance “ Preparation ofMilk Product “ activity was conducted for the students of class IX. Students prepared different milk products like Lassi, Pasta, Cold coffee, Pedha, Shevai Kheer, Faluda, Milk Shake and Custurd. Within the stipulatedtime of one hour. After the preparation the students serverd the beautifully decorated dishes to the teachers and the other group members. They enjoyed the activity a lot. The incharge teachers discussed the observations and declared the best performing group on the basis of time, participation, coordination, quality of product and cleanliness.
To inculcate healthy eating habits and to bring awareness of nutritional food among all the students of Little Flower School Loni celebrated “Nutritional Week” from 21.01.19 to 25.1.19. All the students were intimated by the teacher for the preparation of Nutritional week before the celebration. Students from KG to IX participated enthusiastically. The students brought healthy tiffens daily according to the menu chart provided to them. They learned more about importance of nutritious food through various activities and children were made aware of healthy eating habits. The last day was more special as they got a healthy recipe of their choice. The panel of judges were impressed by the work of the participants and appreciated their talent. The event was a great success with active participation from the students.
The 70th Republic day was celebrated with pride and patriotism at Little Flower School on 2th Jan 2018. The festivities comenst on the musical notes. The ceremony began with the hosting of the tricolor the pride of nation by Mrs. Swati Kharde the school Principal. It was followed by inspiring speeches, spectacular pyramid demo, patriotic songs and drama which stole the hears of everyone. The power and energy exhibited by youngsters amazed the parents. Their commitment and dedication assured the brighter and grand future ahead. The chief guest in her speech explained the students to maintain the dignity of being citizen of the republican nation, to realize the difference between war and peace. A vote of thanks was table by the anchors at the end and the students were distributed sweets.
CAREER COUNCIL SESSION CLASS IX AND X.
School organized the career council session for students and parents of class IX and X on Saturday 19th January. Career decision play pivotal role in shaping the future growth and development of the students. In today’s environment of multiple options knowing about choices available helps children in their decision making process. The session commenced with career counselor Ms. Anchal reiterating the importance of ones potential and subject of interest before making a decision. She also laid stress on the right combination of subject as per their aptitude which should be reflected in their academic performance. She emphasized on the importance of making informed decisions. She also shared information regarding leading universities and various courses available. Ms. Anchal urged the students not to make decisions based on family expectations and peer pressure. She guided the students to identify their interest and what they are good at. She also advised them to plan multiple activities during their vacations to hone their skills. The session was informative and enriching for students as well as parents.
